Sabbatical

While Darren is away from us during this 40-Day Sabbatical, we ask you to pray for him that God will show him without a doubt what His vision for Darren and Church of the Cove is. Pray also for Darren’s family, that they will be safe and at peace during this time. Don’t forget to also pray for Church of the Cove, that we will all step up into those places God has for us and that we will be seeking God’s vision for the church as well.

If you need assistance while Darren is gone, please contact one of our elders, Tony Abbott or Jim Steele.

If you have an administrative issue, please contact Faye Bryant. Share your prayer needs here.

For miscellaneous ministry needs, contact our deacons. They will attend to it as quickly as possible.

Clothing Give-A-Way

It’s time to share Christ through the giving of new and gently used clothes and household items at our Clothing Give-A-Way this Saturday from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m.

You can drop off your donations of new and gently used items through NOON on Friday, October 16th.

The doors will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday to serve those in our community who have need of the items we have.

IMPACT!

The mixed-voice ensemble and band from the University of Mobile is coming to Church of the Cove to share their talent as they worship the King of Kings. If you have friends who only come when it’s a special musical thing, here’s the one to invite them to!
Sunday, October 25th, 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Cove Country Fair

It’s almost that time! Crazy carnival games, dunking booth, moonwalk, bluegrass music, hay rides, puppets, Trunk or Treat and more! This year, we’ll have a Toddler’s Area for the littlest to have fun in.

Men who want to challenge the past chili champs should get the guidelines from Michele Blanch and sign up at the church. This competition is limited to 12 participants.

We’re also collecting candy for our Trunk or Treat event that night. Volunteers will line their cars up for the children to visit and receive candy.
Win a Nintendo Wii! Invite your friends to come and participate! Admission is FREE!

Daraja African Children’s Choir

Cultures will unite when The Daraja Children’s Choir of Africa will perform at Church of the Cove on November 13th to bring a message of joy and hope through African song and dance.
Daraja means “bridge” in Swahili, and the Choir, made up of 24 orphaned and vulnerable children from Kenya, serve as a bridge to connect the people of Africa and America. This is a life-changing opportunity for these children to learn and experience the American culture, as many of them have never experienced life outside of Kenya. At the same time, Americans have the opportunity to step into the lives of these Kenyan children by hearing their testimonies and experiencing traditional African song and dance.

Weekly Business Highlight

Did you know there’s quite a few business owners who are part of Church of the Cove? We want to highlight some of those who are serving Christ through their business and let you know who they are. If you’d like to have your business highlighted, please let us know about you here.
This week, we’re highlighting Paul Antczak’s business, Predators and Prey Humane Wildlife Removal.

Predators and Prey is a new business, but not new to catching critters. I can handle all your nuisance animal needs. Coyote, beaver, raccoon, opossum, woodchuck, skunk, squirrel , bats, rats, and snakes. Predators and Prey will handle your wildlife problems in a humane, caring and professional manner. Habitat modification and prevention of further problems will be offered. Predators and Prey can handle the little problems like a opossum in the trash or as big as a group of coyote killing live stock. All at a realistic price. With low over head we can pass the savings on to you. Relocation of some animals is permissible. So if your tired of hearing those raccoons in your attic or scared of getting sprayed by Mr. Stinky give Predators and Prey a call for a free quote and take control of your back yard. Call Paul for a quote: 865-724-4569 “Been catchin’ critters for over 30 years.”

Please note that the inclusion of a business here is neither an endorsement nor a recommendation.
We are simply making our readers aware of the businesses owned and operated by those in our church.
